Perched at 1940 meters in the midst of pristine forest of oak, rhododendron, pine and Deodar, Kot Naikana is a painstakingly renovated traditional Kumaoni house converted into a boutique Homestay. Trek to Jageshwar Dham
Beautifully set in the midst of lush Deodar (Cedrus deodara) forest, this temple complex is just about 45 minute easy walk from Kot Naikana. The initial stretch is a gradual climb to the ridge through the forests of pine, rhododendron and oak and then you descend down through the deodar forest up to the temple.
Soak in the crisp and fresh atmosphere, enjoy the delectable local cuisine, explore the forests on a walk, spot the ample birds, learn the rural way of life on a leisurely walk to the nearby village, capture the alluring views of snow caped peaks or just do nothing and immerse in the serenity. Believed to be one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, Jageshwar Temple complex is just about 40 mins walk and 20 mins drive from our place. Historical town of Almora is about 1 hour drive away. We have curated various hikes / walks around Kot Naikana ranging from 1 hour leisurely stroll to a full day hike. Other unique activities include village visit and traditional meal at a local resident home.
